Announcing our $5M seed round led by Gradient Ventures

Respan, a proactive observability platform for AI agents, has raised $5M in seed funding led by Gradient Ventures (Google's AI-focused venture fund), with participation from Y Combinator, Hat-Trick Capital, XIAOXIAO FUND, Antigravity Capital, Alpen Capital, and incredible angels and AI founders.

The problem

Teams shipping AI agents to production today are flying blind. The gap between a working prototype and a reliable production system is enormous — and most existing tools only help you look backward.

You can collect traces. You can log requests. You can run evals in CI. But when an agent starts failing in production, most teams don't find out until users complain. And even then, figuring out what changed, why it broke, and what to do next takes hours of manual investigation.

As AI agents get more complex — chaining multiple models, using tools, managing long-running sessions — the surface area for failure grows fast. Teams need more than dashboards. They need a system that connects observability to action.

What we're building

Respan is the first proactive AI observability platform that closes the loop from evals to production. Instead of just showing you what happened, Respan helps teams:

We built Respan because we experienced these problems firsthand. Every AI team we talked to was stitching together logging, eval frameworks, and alerting tools — and still struggling to maintain confidence in production.

Our progress

Over the last year, Respan has grown to support 100+ startups and enterprise teams. Today the platform processes 1B+ logs and 2T+ tokens every month, supporting 6.5M+ end users. We grew revenue more than 8x YoY in 2025.
