Sparkles is a web-based development environment that enables non-technical team members — marketing, design, ops — to create pull requests on existing codebases without writing code. Part of YC W2026, it was founded by Ai Daniil Bekirov (age 20, Ukrainian, UCL dropout), with angel investors from OpenAI.
Unlike tools like Lovable or Bolt that create new projects from scratch, Sparkles is specifically designed for existing projects. A technical person connects the GitHub repository and sets up environment variables, then anyone with a company email can log in to the web UI, make changes through an AI-assisted chat interface, preview them in real-time, and submit them as GitHub PRs for engineer review. This preserves code quality through the existing review process while eliminating the engineering bottleneck for simple changes.
The platform supports major frameworks including Next.js and Vite, provides isolated sandboxes for each project, and offers one-click deployment to production. Sparkles addresses a real pain point: non-technical teams waiting on developers for simple content updates, copy changes, and design tweaks.

Non-technical teammates on engineering projects
Sparkles enables non-technical teams to modify codebases that may include AI features. Respan can monitor the AI components within those applications to ensure changes made through Sparkles don't negatively impact AI performance.
