# List custom behaviors

GET https://api.respan.ai/api/pulses/behaviors/custom/

Lists your organization's custom behaviors, most recently updated first.

Reference: https://respan.ai/docs/apis/behaviors/list-custom-behaviors

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Use your Respan API key for Respan API authentication. Enter only the Respan API key value; clients send Authorization: Bearer \<RESPAN\_API\_KEY>. For /api/responses, provider credentials such as Perplexity, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI go in Settings -> Providers or respan\_params.credential\_override in the request body, not in this authentication field.

## Request

### Query parameters

- `page` (integer, optional, default: 1) — Page number.
- `page_size` (integer, optional, default: 100) — Behaviors per page. Values above 1000 are capped at 1000.
- `tags` (string, optional) — Only behaviors with any of these tag IDs. Comma-separated, or repeat the parameter.

## Response

### 200

A page of custom behaviors.

- `results` (list of CustomBehaviorWithTags, required) — Custom behaviors, most recently updated first.
- `count` (integer, required) — Number of behaviors on this page (not the total).
- `next` (string, required, nullable) — URL of the next page, or `null` on the last page.
- `previous` (string, required, nullable) — URL of the previous page, or `null` on the first page.
- `current_filters` (map from string to any, optional) — Always empty for this endpoint.

## Errors

### 403 Forbidden Error

Forbidden: the API key is missing, invalid or expired; the key doesn't grant `custom_behaviors:read` (Read access does); behaviors are turned off for the organization.

- `detail` (string, required)

### 429 Too Many Requests Error

Rate limited. This endpoint allows 30 requests per minute per organization.

- `detail` (string, required)

## Types

### CustomBehaviorWithTags

- `id` (string, required) — Custom behavior ID. It is also the behavior's key in analytics, filters and span verdicts.
- `name` (string, required, nullable) — Display name. Optional and not unique; behaviors are identified by `id`.
- `description` (string, required) — The plain-language definition span-01 scores each span against. Say what counts and what doesn't. At least 3 characters after trimming.
- `polarity` (enum, required) — Whether the behavior firing is good or bad: `negative` (an Issue), `positive` (a Win) or `neutral` (Info). Display metadata only; it does not change how spans are scored.
  - Allowed values: `negative`, `positive`, `neutral`
- `created_at` (datetime, required)
- `updated_at` (datetime, required)
- `tags` (list of BehaviorTag, required) — Tags on the behavior.

### BehaviorTag

- `id` (string, required) — Tag ID.
- `name` (string, required) — Tag name.
- `color` (string, required) — Tag color.
- `created_at` (datetime, required)
- `updated_at` (datetime, required)
